Amber Pirson is an Attorney at Diaz Trade Law and an active member of the DC bar. Amber focuses her practice on U.S. customs and international trade compliance, advising clients on regulatory requirements governing imports, exports, and global supply chains.<\/p>\n
Amber\u2019s experience includes tariff classification; advising on export license requirements and export filings; navigating novel sanctions designations; responding to CBP requests for information; and developing compliance strategies designed to mitigate risk and optimize duty savings. She supports clients in navigating trade remedy and sanctions exposure, while identifying opportunities under Free Trade Agreements and other duty-savings mechanisms.<\/p>\n
Amber brings a strong background in international law and public policy to her trade practice. She earned her J.D. from Cornell Law School, with honors in International Legal Affairs. During law school, Amber participated in the Jessup International Moot Court competition, ranking among the top 75 oralists globally. Amber also contributed to the creation of the Migrants Rights Database, the first global data source that benchmarks the extent to which states fulfill their international obligations to protect the rights of migrants.<\/p>\n
Prior to joining Diaz Trade Law, Amber worked at an international law firm, aiding global corporations as they navigate complex US statutes and regulatory bodies, including the Bank Secrecy Act, Section 301 and 232 tariffs, CFIUS, and BIS. She also advised companies on export classifications and licenses, anti-boycott and related investment risks, as well as ESG-related updates in the US and EU. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and visiting friends around the globe.<\/p>\n
